I have snatched up every installment in this series and have been pleasantly surprised at how much I have enjoyed them, but soothing they are not.Anja's life is complicated and it seems to get more and more complicated with each book, she moves ahead at all times and tried to be positive but her personal life stays in shambles most of the time IMHO. This book is no different.
After Jakob saves the day in the last book in a fashion that Superman could not have pulled off I was looking forward to a book that was upbeat and getting towards that "happy ever after" that I know has to be out there someplace for her (it does ...... right?)
Well unfortunately Jakob is a major pain (that is mild but I don't want Amazon to delete my review) and just when you think you wish somebody would wipe his smug, overbearing butt off the map you find he is trying to protect Anja after all. At the end of this book you still won't know exactly what to think of him but he becomes a much smaller problem.
She loves Rob but if she shows it Jakob would most likely kill him so that kinda takes the buzz off that romance but once again .... not the big thing here.
Since I don't do spoilers, all I can say is that when the REAL problem raises it's ugly head it is a MAJOR "WTF are we gonna do now" moment and I guess Ms Olsen felt that since she gave us such an awesome ending last time, she is gonna make us suffer a bit at the end of this one. Close to a cliffhanger as you can get without really calling it one.
My heart may stop before the next book in this series comes out. Grab this book if you are a fan, if not go back to book #1 and get started NOW. Highly recommended and a 5 Star series, I gave this 4 stars because it left so many things up in the air and only settled a very few of them,

This book is just as good as the others and leaves you gasping at the end! I hate that Lisa left me hanging but makes me want the next one even more! I love the relationship that grows between Anya and Rob, they really connect in this one. Anya is definitely stepping up her leadership role in this one too and you see how much she has grown since the beginning. Bishop is still around too and he's really grown as well.
I can't get enough of this Forged Bloodlines series....Hear me When the Sun Goes Down makes you feel every emotion possible...I love the characters....the storyline is different and original...not like many other vampire stories....The ending left me shouting NOOOOOOO....and I am biting my nails waiting for the next book to be released in May 2014....OMG I can't wait....I have to say that I have a new favorite author and that is Lisa Olsen....Read this series...it is fabulous.
This series is very well written (very few editing mistakes, in my opinion!) This series has replaced my cravings for Sookie Stackhouse . I cannot wait until the next one comes out early 2015. If you like the Sookie series, and the old Anita Blake series, you will not be disappointed with The Forged Bloodlines. Enjoy them! I know that even with this series there will be a book or two that you might not like as well as the others in the series, this is no different than the Anita Blake & Sookie series, in my opinion.
I chose a three because this is a great series. EXCEPT that in 6 books, the main character Anja has been kept from love. Having fallen in love nearly 3 times, with 3 separate characters and still they are ripped from her grip by circumstance. One can only take so much. She is a strong minded, strong willed woman. Also, the fact that I'd found the first 5 books on iBooks, and had to not only download kindle, but sign up for and use a debit card instead of it just being charged to my phone bill or iTunes account was rather frustrating to do at 4 am. They should be available on both rather than some on one, some on the other. Heading into book 7, let's hope she can finally keep her love.
Book 6. This is where the series totally falls apart. It has some great events and great new characters. But..... Robs speech patterns change, here and book 7, all of a sudden uses double negatives. Bickering, bickering, Bishop and Rob totally devolve into petulant petty teens, but they aren't the only ones. There are literally big sections of bickering that you can skip and loose nothing.You get to meet some wonderful new characters that lierally just disappear and don't reappear. You feel threads to great stories open and look forward to the next books, but they don't expland or go forth with these new worlds and characters. Your stuck with Jakob, Rob, and Bishop and they dont improve with time. This book is a good stopping point in the series.
I originally got the first book in the series for free and before I had even finished it downloaded all the rest. Lucky for me it wasn't too long before I had to wait for this latest installment. I LOVE following Anja and seeing how strong and confident she has become. I will not give away any spoilers but I anticipate the next book will be a doozy considering how this one ended. Do yourself a favor and get the Forged Bloodlines series, you will not be disappointed. As long as Lisa keeps writing this series I will continue to read it )
